How much a custom gate costs: what the price depends on
The price of a custom gate cannot be stated exactly without dimensions and a choice of material. Here are the items that determine it most, so you know what to look for in a quote.

The short answer
The price of a custom gate depends on its width and height, the material, the infill, the surface protection, the automation and the installation. Two gates for the same opening can differ in price depending on these choices. That is why a quote should be requested with dimensions and a photo of the spot.
What affects the price most
Indicative prices
| Type | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Pedestrian gate, single leaf | from about €350 |
| Swing vehicle gate, single leaf | from about €450 |
| Swing, double leaf (450×230 cm) | from about €900 |
| Sliding, classic | from about €1,000 |
| Self-supporting sliding (450×230 cm) | from about €1,200 |
| Gate motor | about €450 each |
These are market guides for standard builds and do not guarantee the same for your case. A custom gate with a special infill, protection or automation can cost more. You get an exact price only with dimensions and a photo.
- Size: a larger gate uses more material and needs a stronger structure.
- Material: steel, stainless steel or aluminium differ in price and in how they are worked.
- Infill: slats, sheet or a laser-cut pattern need different amounts of material and labour.
- Surface protection: painting, powder coating or galvanizing.
- Drive and automation: motor, remotes, photocells, intercom.
- Foundation and ground: the track or posts need preparation, and a slope makes installation harder.
- Installation: access to the site and the amount of work on location.

What to send for an exact quote
- The width and height of the opening (or a photo with an object for scale)
- A photo of where the gate will go
- The look you want, or an example you like
- Whether you want automation and a remote
- The date by which you need the gate
